Our Farm Story
Schmidt Blueberry Farm is a family owned farm and has been producing and selling blueberries for over 50 years. Kyle and Mikala bought Schmidt Blueberry Farm from Kyle’s parents, Bill and Susie Schmidt in 2016. They are third generation on the land. The family’s legacy in Washington started when Bill’s parents, Henry and Sophie Schmidt, moved from the East Coast more than 70 years ago and purchased 40 acres in Marysville, WA in 1949. Kyle and Mikala’s children, Kai, 11, and Elle, 8, are generation four. The property in Marysville has about 4,000 blueberry plants. The five varieties ripen at different times to stretch the season, which runs from early July through mid-August. The couple’s goal is to keep their land a welcoming place for family and friends, where the next generation can learn to work and make their own memories.
